I publish a tiny cult Lit Journal called ExistOtherwise that pays contributors for their work. The journal is inspired by the gender non-conforming artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore. The journal publishes a diverse range of artists including first-timers alongside well established professionals. We also feature LGBTQIAplus content.

I publish out of pocket and don't have a lot of money for promotion. Would you please consider nominating E.O. for the 3rd Annual Chill Subs Community Favorites Best Lit Mag Awards?

You don't have to be a member of Chill Subs. The form is literally only three fields, and will take seconds. Just start typing "Exist Otherwise" and before you finish you'll see the title appear.

OTOH, if you're interested in indie literature, writing, poetry, art, and other forms of online brilliance, Chill Subs is an amazing resource. I've been a member since they began and I am in awe of how much they have accomplished in three years.

This isn't for me. I don't need the validation or attention, but I'm trying to bring more eyeballs to the many talented contributors who I publish.

Here are a few poems that I have had published:

Haiku

far offshore
a fish leaps
no sound

after Basho:

The old pond;
A frog jumps in —
The sound of the water.

...

Bashō tosses bread
to the abandoned child
cold autumn wind

...

butterfly
sleeping
on scat

after Buson:

Butterfly
sleeping
on the temple bell.

...

second hand ticking the hum of a light bulb

...

my dead father
every time I cough
every time...

after Issa:

Mother I never knew,
every time I see the ocean
every time...

Tanka

low clouds
over the distant dam
across the lake
a banjo plays
far from home

...

on my thigh
another hair
from my beard
winter is early
this year
